Technical Coordinator, Anticipatory Action for IFRC/Danish Red Cross (for 6 months)
Qualification: Master’s Degree in a relevant area (e.g., Disaster Risk Management, Humanitarian Policy and Practice, Business Administration)
Experience: 7-10 years’ experience in the field of Disaster Preparedness and Risk Reduction with a focus on Anticipatory Action
Responsibilities: The Technical Coordinator, Anticipatory Action, (AA) will be responsible for establishing the AA clinic, which will serve to strengthen the institutional capacity and governance of AA within Nepal’s government so that the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Authority (NDRRMA) can steer the direction of both current and future AA-related initiatives, projects, and programs.
The Technical Coordinator (AA) will be part of the DRC Country Cluster (Bangladesh and Nepal), which is an integrated part of the IFRC in Nepal. The Technical Coordinator will be based in NDRRMA, and work under the supervision of the NDRRMA Chief Executive, but in liaison with the DRC Country Cluster Manager. The technical reporting line will be to the DRC Program Coordinator.
It is expected that s/he will coordinate on behalf of NDRRMA with counterparts in organizations and agencies involved in AA, including acting as the point of contact for the communities of practice (COP), various technical working groups (TWGs), as well as where relevant, networks outside of Nepal (e.g., Anticipation Hub, REAP, regional TWGs, etc.)
