The Program Associate is an entry level position and will support the administrative, financial, and programmatic operations of IRI in Nepal. This position will help ensure efficient office management, financial compliance, and programmatic documentation. This position will be based in Kathmandu and will be directly supervised by a designated Program Manager/ Senior Program Manager in Kathmandu.
Position Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in management, international relations, international development, political science or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in international development or related field. Previous work with United States Government (USG)-funded projects preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
- Experience with accounting software preferred.
- Excellent skills in writing, research, financial management, communications, and interpersonal relations.
- Knowledge of Nepal’s finance rules and donor agencies’ financial compliances.
- Fluency in English and Nepali.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
- Provide support with IRI’s in-country office administrative and financial tasks.
- Contribute to drafting and maintaining relevant program documentation.
- Contribute to program reports, including summarizing and analyzing program activities.
- Provide support with program management, ensuring objectives are met and activities comply with IRI and donor regulations.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets, processing invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports, ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, and support internal and external audits.
- Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), including data collection and analysis.
- Support the organization, facilitation, and logistics of meetings with partner organizations, government officials and ministries, and other key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation and presentation of implementation plans, budgets, and reporting requirements as required by donors.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or better in Political Science or related field.
Experience
