ROLE PURPOSE

The overall responsibility of this position is to ensure that all activities that Plan International Nepal implements meet the requirements of the Government of Nepal, at all levels. S/He will be be responsible for good maintaining good working relationship primarily, with Social Welfare Council (SWC), relevant government ministries/departments and organisations/networks that share common agenda for change in the lives of children and adolescence girls in Nepal.

The position will also support Program and Operation teams to ensure that the functioning of the organization in compliance with SWC and other government requirements.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Campaign Strategy Development

  • Work with the Communications Manager and Collaborate with program teams to develop comprehensive campaign strategies aligned with Plan International’s global ask and priority of the country programme.
  • Identify key campaign goals, target audiences, and messaging frameworks to ensure impactful and coherent campaigns.

Campaign Implementation

  • Lead the execution of campaign activities, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to manage logistics, resources, and materials required for successful campaign rollouts.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, community groups, and the media, to build support and amplify campaign messages.
  • Foster partnerships with local and national organizations to enhance the reach and effectiveness of campaigns.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Analyze campaign performance data and provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.

Budget Management

  • Oversee the campaign budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts to monitor campaign expenditures.

Communication and Branding

  • With the guidance from Communication Manager ensure that all campaign materials are consistent with Plan International’s branding guidelines and communication standards.
  • Work closely with the communications team to produce high-quality content, including social media posts, press releases, and promotional materials.

Capacity Building

  • Provide training and support to staff and partners involved in campaign activities to enhance their capacity and effectiveness.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned from campaigns to contribute to organizational learning and development.

Crisis Management

  • During campaign planning anticipate potential risks during campaign execution and develop contingency plans.
  • Work closely with management to respond swiftly to any issues that arise, ensuring that campaigns continue to run smoothly and effectively.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Responsible to document all aspects of the campaign process, including planning, implementation, and outcomes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external audiences, showcasing the impact of campaigns.

Any other tasks as assigned by line manager in accordance to organizational mandate and priority.

Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Program Participants and Gender Equality and Inclusion (DEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Education Qualification and Experience

  • Master degree in communications, media studies or any relevant social science with minimum 1-2 years of experience OR Bachelor Degree in relevant field with minimum 3 years’ experience, especially, in social change campaigns related to youths.
  • Good hands on experience in campaign material development including, producing creative contents for various publications including designing key messages for different targeted audiences.
  • Experience in working with youths by identifying their issues and including them in Plan International led campaign.
  • Experience in dealing with a range of stakeholders; partners, CSO networks, Youth movement.
  • Experience in organising large events involving wide range of both internal and external stakeholders.

Knowledge

  • Awareness of the social, economic, and political landscape in Nepal especially in relation to children’s rights and development issues.
  • Clear understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that youths of Nepal are facing.
  • Advance knowledge of gender transformative child rights programming in both development and humanitarian context.
  • Knowledge of effective communication strategies for different media, including social media, print, and broadcast.
  • Familiarity with child protection principles and safeguarding policies to ensure that campaigns align with ethical standards.

Skills

  • Flexibility and ability to multi-tasking under pressure.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including presentation in Nepali and English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences
  • Strong ability to communicate and negotiate at different levels and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for campaign management, including social media, content management systems, and analytics tools.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to engage with the public through events, workshops, and community outreach.
