DONOR FINANCE OFFICER (INT10690)

Duration: Casual Contract until March 31, 2025 (Maternity Absence Coverage)

The Role:

Donor Finance Officer sits under Business Support team. Donor Finance Officer is responsible for managing the financial aspects of donor-funded projects, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and maintaining transparency in financial reporting. The role involves budgeting, financial monitoring, and preparing reports for donors, while also overseeing income or grant received and contract management.

What we are looking for:

Donor Finance Officer acts as a liaison between the donors, Program team ensuring that all financial activities align with both donor expectations and regulatory standards. Additionally, DFO support internal teams with financial data, financial analysis contributes to strategic planning, and uphold ethical standards in the management of donor funds. We are looking for someone who have the following experience, knowledge and competencies.

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration
  • Minimum of 3 years in a finance management and reporting role within an I/NGO
  • Proficient to use finance software – PeopleSoft or any similar system software.
  • Sound understanding of the scope of strategic partnerships.
  • Sound knowledge of related local laws and statutory requirements.
  • Demonstrable strong numeric skill and good analytical skills
  • Good time management with prioritization skill
  • Experience and capability in motivating and training others (both finance and non-finance) in Oxfam and donors’ financial policies, procedures, and concepts
  • Sound understanding of institutional donors and previous experience in producing high quality donor reports and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
  • Ability to work independently and within team.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali.
