Donor’s Engagement and Resources Mobilization

Location: Kathmandu

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Lalitpur, Nepal. The position is paid according to paygrade.

To lead and further develop WHH’s resource mobilization strategy, enhancing donor engagement, and securing funding for WHH’s programs. This is based on building relationships with potential donors, gather donors’ intelligence, prepare external facing position papers for the organization, lead preparation and submission of the concept notes and projects proposals as the needs of the donors.

Your responsibilities

  • Design and development and own the resources mobilization strategy for Welthungerhilfe.
  • Collect donors intelligence on their strategy for the country, pipelines, thematic areas of interest, the timelines for various calls and share it with the Senior Management Team (SMT)
  • Support the technical experts in preparing external facing position papers for various thematic areas, aligned with the organizational strategy and based on the strategies of various donors.
  • Gather intelligence and keep the team informed on upcoming calls from different donors including understanding of donor landscape, resource mobilization techniques, tracking grants.
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with key donors
  • come up with innovative ideas and approaches for resources mobilization
  • Help the team decide on whether to go or not to go for a particular call.
  • Lead and prepare high quality concept notes and proposals for various expression of interests/calls
  • Support the technical Experts/ Head of Programmes in preparing high quality reports/documentation for WHH and donor agencies ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Revise the concept notes and proposals based on the feedback from the donor.
  • Submit high quality Concept Notes and Proposals to various donors ensuring compliance.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors, ensuring continued support for WHH’s programs.
  • Accompanying various donors, other relevant stakeholders to the field.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Country Director

Your profile

  • Required qualification and experience:
  • Nepali citizen having master’s degree in development studies, economics, project design and management, or related field.
  • High levels of skills and expertise on the subject matter.
  • At least 5 years of similar experiences in resources mobilization and donor’s engagement.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience
  • Very sound understanding and practical experience on programming based on Systems Thinking.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge on Climate Change, Triple Nexus, LRRD etc.
  • Knowledge on food security, WASH, nutrition and economic development in various contexts viz. humanitarian, development and DRR is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding on gender and social inclusion related issues an asset
  • Excellent in written and spoken English and Nepali languages.
  • Excellent project proposal, theory of change, report writing, case study formulation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent Organizational skills.
  • Excellent coordination and facilitation skills
  • Creative, flexible, and pro-active, willingness to learn and to share knowledge.
  • Proven ability to work creatively, innovatively, and effectively with limited direct supervision.
  • Willingness to work in the field, with overnight stays (village level)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Power point, outlook) and web-based communications systems/ technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience of digital-based (smart-phone) based data collection and analysis.
