Driver

Duty station: Rupandehi Field Office, Lumbini Province, with frequent travel to Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta Paschim) and Dang.

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Overall Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for ensuring Helen Keller International’s best practices are upheld, including adherence to the code of conduct, policies and procedures, financial accountability and making sure official matters are kept confidential.
Ensuring quality is a primary objective of Helen Keller International’s programming and monitoring and evaluation oversight is a requirement to achieve the best outcomes possible.

As gender and social inclusion (GESI) is a cross-cutting and core component for Helen Keller International programs, all personnel are required to ensure GESI sensitivity and integration where they work.

General Position Summary:

The Office Driver will provide safe and reliable transport services for Helen Keller International Nepal Lumbini, Rupandehi Field Office under Transforming Lives through nutrition Project. S/He will drive office vehicles following the utmost safety and security protocols of office and will adhere to Helen Keller International Nepal Field Fleet Management Policy, Field Operation policy and follow all traffic and safety rules and regulations as per Government of Nepal transport guidelines.

Knowledge and Experience:

  •  Technical knowledge and skill about vehicle repair and maintenance.
  •  Basic knowledge of MS word, spreadsheet, email, data entry.
  •  Must have Nepali citizenship and PAN registration.
  •  Knowledge of general Safety and Security Management Plan, First Aids, Fire, Incident reporting and Vehicle Use Road Safety.
  • Must have clear eyesight/vision both day and night and have latest eyesight test report.
  • Knowledge of operating vehicle GPS system.
  • At least 5 years of experience in driving 4X4 vehicles with a clear past driving record.
  • Valid driving license with knowledge of transport and traffic regulations.
  • Familiar with the Government of Nepal’s Ministries and Departments and government regulation for submitting and collecting official documents.
  • Basic understanding of spoken and written English and fluency in other local languages is preferred.
  • Prior work experience in respective districts, province.
  •  Priority will be given to the person from Lumbini Province.
