HEALTH & SAFETY AND SECURITY OFFICER (INT10600)

Duration: Till 31 March 2025

Location: Kathmandu with travelling to the project areas

The Role:

The role involves creating, training, and reviewing task-based risk assessments to ensure they meet national laws, performing routine maintenance and facilities checks, and monitoring Health and Safety standards. It also includes leading the Health and Safety Committee, conducting training and awareness activities for team leaders, and supporting colleagues in these tasks. Additionally, the role provides backup support for Security management in Nepal.

What we are looking for:

Health & Safety and Security Officer’s role is to help creating and maintaining a positive Health & Safety culture across Nepal country operations. This role will also provide the backstopping support for Security Management. We are looking for someone who have the following experience, knowledge and competencies.

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in the same/similar functional area preferably with NGOs/UN Agency.
Demonstrated ability of decision-making, incident management, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
Experience in working with and understanding risk management with a focus on risks related to security and safety.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and manage stress.
Fluency in English both written and verbal.
