Duties and Responsibilities

Support to the RC:
Prepare background briefs and talking points for RC meetings, prepare drafts of RC correspondence. Preparing public engagement talking points for the RC with the support of relevant UN agencies and RCO colleagues. Support the RC in all her functions as RC and DO.
UN Country Team and UNSDCF Support
Prepare and follow up on UN Country Team, Security Management Team, and other meetings (including preparation of the agenda, liaising and organising with presenters, preparing minutes and follow up on action points). Organize and support activities related to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. Maintain complete and up-to-date information on UN programmes and budgets in Nepal. Support the Head of RCO and RCO colleagues in the drafting of Annual Report for the Resident Coordinator and UNCT to report on the UNCT results. Support the RCO and in UNCT in the year-end reporting.

UN Communications:
In coordination with the communication officer, Assist in the preparation and implementation of media and social media engagement for the RC, as well as proposed messages for the UN Country Team social media channels. Draft joint op-eds and press releases on behalf of the UN Country Team and the Resident Coordinator. Contribute to roll-out cross-cutting initiatives.

Support to the RCO:
Provide support to the RCO on various reporting requirements, as and when needed assist in the organization and execution of various events, workshop etc. Participate and assist RCO colleagues in their coordination of UNCT working groups.

Qualifications/special skills
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in law, political science, international relations or other relevant discipline.
2 years of experience in report writing/editing.

Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
