Trainee – Finance

ROLE PURPOSE:
Save the Children is the leading independent organization for children. We save children’s lives; we fight for their rights; we help them fulfill their potential. We reached approximately two million populations and invested over 35 million US dollars in 2014 to reach more children than ever before, through programs in Health, Nutrition, Education, Protection and Child Rights and Governance, Livelihood, HIV and AIDS, and Humanitarian crises.
The position holder will be responsible to support remittance execution, scheduling tax payments and audit facilitation.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Finance Coordinator- Reconciliation
Dimensions: Save the Children works in 57 districts of Nepal and nationally in Bhutan with a current staff complement of approximately 400 staff and current expenditure of approximately $US 35 million each year.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Upload audit sampled document in online portal as per checklist
- Collect audit related transactions from relevant field offices and partner offices
- Check availability of documents uploaded by field office/ partners for audit are as per the checklist.
- Arrange to keep documents processed via procurement system in shared folder and provide to auditors.
- Assist Provide the sampled documents to auditors as required
- Support on refiling the vouchers and invoices after completion of audit.
- Assist to do e-filing of vouchers and other relevant documents for paperless working modality
- Assist on preparation of tax schedules and payment on weekly basis
- Assist on remittance proposal run
- Match the settled transaction in the system with the guidance from line manager.
- Others task as delegated by line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s in business studies
- Working skills on Accounting Software & MS Excel.
- Good command in English and Nepali language
- Good communication skills
